CONTRACT DURATION
The contract is signed in accordance with Ukrainian law applicable to foreign service members.
The formal duration of the contract may be longer than the minimum period of service. For this reason, it is important to distinguish between:
the formal duration of the contract
and
the point at which the service member becomes eligible to request voluntary termination
MANDATORY MINIMUM PERIOD
6 MONTHS OF CONTINUOUS SERVICE
This is one of the most important conditions of the contract.
A foreign service member must complete at least 6 months of continuous service before becoming eligible to request voluntary termination of the contract.
Before completing this period, voluntary departure should not be considered a normal option.
EXCEPTIONS
Exceptional circumstances recognized by law, including serious medical conditions formally confirmed through the appropriate procedures, follow separate evaluation and discharge processes.
These situations are not based solely on the personal decision of the service member and must be processed by the competent authorities.
BEFORE SIGNING
Candidates must fully understand that they are entering into a real military commitment.
Before signing, they should clearly understand:
the mandatory minimum period of 6 months
the inability to request voluntary termination before that period
the physical and psychological demands of service
military discipline
the conditions established by Ukrainian law
TRANSPARENCY PRINCIPLE
The purpose of this information is to ensure that no candidate signs the contract without understanding its consequences.
The decision to join should only be made after fully understanding the commitment being undertaken.
